This stunning 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using antique and vintage jewellery elements.
I have used an antique traditional curb link 9ct gold Albert watch chain for the main neck chain section, with a fusion of different link antique and vintage chain for the drop. The necklace fastens to the rear of the neck by way of a Victorian bolt ring fastener and as I have incorporated 2 separate jump/fixing rings, has the added flexibility of being able to be worn at 2 different lengths (see measurements below). The chains being a wonderful gentle rosy 9ct gold.
From the central ring hangs a chain drop with T bar finial. Together with the 'trophy piece' bee-ing a jaw droppingly gorgeous vintage Bee piece, (formerly a brooch). The bee is crafted in silver, with gold gilting/wash to the reverse, which is slightly worn. There is beautiful detail and texturing to the piece, which is encrusted with rose cut diamonds. There is a chubby cultured pearl to the body and 2 tiny ruby eyes. Simply gorgeous!
An eclectic collectors item (such pieces are becoming more and more difficult to source).
Absolutely stunning when worn. Is sure to be a much admired, conversational and envied piece. Wear smugly!
Neck Chain Length: 16.75 inches - can also be worn at 15.25 inches*
Overall Length when worn: 23.5 inches (at longest fixing point)
Bee: 3.5cm x 2.5cm (excluding bale ring)
T Bar: 3.8cm
* NB: I am wearing the necklace at the shorter length fixing point in the photo gallery.
This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
