This beautiful 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using a mix of 9ct gold and silver elements.
The antique 9ct gold chain is a beautiful gentle rose gold in colour, that only antique pieces of jewellery seem to afford. It has a barrel clasp fastening which clinks in nicely.
I have coupled this chain with a large (and quite heavy), antique silver and set with paste stones swallow bird. It is a particularly nice example, with the head of the bird sitting up and proud from the body, giving the bird a detailed 3D effect. The eyes are tiny garnet cabochons.
Set on the breast of the bird is an original small loop from which hangs a fine 9ct gold chain, to which I have added a precious little antique 'acorn' charm, which I sourced from my recent trip to a Paris Flea Market. So sweet!!
This necklace is everything....... all rolled into one. Rich contrasting and complimenting colours, decadence, romance with a splash of twinkle thrown in for good measure. So much character and substance.
Swallows were a favourite of the Victorian/Edwardian era given as a love token to a sweetheart to signify that they would be returning to them after the war or after a journey away. The acorn I thought was a nice nod to this, in that a little acorn could grow into a great oak - or in this case a great life long love affair. Just call me an old romantic :)
A classically cool forever heirloom piece. As you can probably tell, I Love love love!!
Neck Chain Length: 18.5 inches

This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
