This rare, collectible and unique antique jewellery piece has been created using a fusion of different link antique and vintage silver chains, together with antique Albertina charms, curios and antique French black enamelled metal or possibly Bakerlite locket. The front of the locket has an exquisite gilt metal swallow/folliage design with the reverse side having a hinged glass window with cavity to insert a photo or keepsake.
I have coupled the locket with an antique Victorian silver Albertina chain, together with vintage silver trace and rope chains. The central charm drops again comprise different antique and vintage chains from which are suspended the original Albertina charms that were with the Albertina chain section when sourced and include:
- Silver puffed heart
- Tiny silver coin dated 1843
- Particularly beautiful antique barley twist and ball detail T bar
The trophy piece being of course the antique French locket.
Along the length of the vintage chains to the side, I have inserted another ring, from which I have added a small silver 'fleur-de-lis' charm, to give a nice little nod to the lockets French roots.
The chain fastens centrally to the front, by way of an Albert swivel fastener, (although the necklace is of course long enough to slip over the head).
Overall length of Necklace when Worn: 34 inches
Neck Section Length: 25 inches.
Locket: 4cm x 2.8cm (excluding gilt bale)
A special and beautiful piece which can be worn alone or layered up with any of my other shorter length necklaces to give full impact and drama!
Wear with everything!
This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
