'The Honeymoon Period'

This beautiful unique 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using a delightfully delicate and pretty antique Victorian 9ct gold 'Honeymoon'* Crescent Moon piece (formerly a brooch), with floral spray detail which is set with pretty seed pearls.

Victorian brides wore brooches with a crescent moon cradling a flower on their honeymoon.  These sweet styles are called 'honeymoon brooches', which were said to represent 'the magic of the moon and the sweet nectar of the flower'.

Sometimes, where a piece has been converted from a brooch, there may be evidence of a little 'scarring' on the reverse, from where once the pin and hinge lived. However, this does not detract from the pieces beauty or wearability in any way.  (Refer to Image 3 in the photo gallery).

I have set this dreamy piece on a brand new belcher link chain. The silver contrasting and complimenting the crescent moon perfectly.  Furthermore,  I have added in 3 rings along its length, allowing the necklace to be fastened in 3 different places, therefore giving the versatility of being able to wear the necklace at 3 different lengths.  The necklace fastens by way of a bolt ring fastener.

Classically lovely forever heirloom piece.

Wear alone or layered with any other of my longer necklaces.

Where it for romance.

Approximate Measurements:
Overall length: 20 inches, can also be worn at 19 inches and 16.75 inches
Crescent Moon: 5cm

This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
