This beautiful antique 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using a jaw droppingly beautiful large Victorian crescent moon piece (formerly a brooch), exquisitely crafted with open work detail and set with a triple row of rose cut diamonds (49 in total).
The diamonds are set in silver (which was the usual method for this period, when jewellers believed that only a silver mounting could reflect and compliment the true beauty of the diamonds), with the reverse side of the piece (which is SO pretty), being 18 ct rose gold.
I have coupled the crescent moon with a pretty and intricate 'Lovers Knot' antique Victorian 9ct old gold chain; with gentle rosy patina and bolt ring fastening. The necklace has the added advantage of being able to be worn at 2 different lengths (see below).
Ever popular: Crescent moon jewellery signified, new beginnings, new phase of life and were often given as wedding gift and good luck.
Don't save for best! Wear with your jeans, or wear with a cocktail dress - Wear smuggly.......
Overall Length: 18.7 inches - Can also be worn at 17.25 inches
This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
Polite Notice: This vintage piece has been lovingly restored and any imperfections which may have occurred through the years only adds to the individuality and character of the necklace. This is the nature and the joy of vintage and antique pieces. If you are expecting an item to be like 'brand new', then vintage jewellery may not be for you.......
