This beautiful old gold 'fine' jewellery necklace has been created using an antique 9 carat gold lighter weight double Albert watch chain, complete 2 Albert swivel fasteners.  The necklace also has the added advantage of being able to be worn at 2 different lengths.

I have added a central ring and chain drop to the chain, from which is suspended a most precious and exquisite Victorian 15ct gold swallow piece,  (formerly a brooch), the swallow is embellished with creamy seed pearls. The bird is holding a 'sprig' in its beak which is set with pretty turquoise stones.  The bird has tiny ruby eyes.

From the chain drop I have suspended an old 9ct gold 'Faith, Hope, Charity' (heart, anchor, cross set within a circle), detail charm.  This charm too is set with a turquoise stone, which ties in nicely with the swallows 'sprig'.

The necklace has 2 Albert swivel fasteners and can be fastened centrally to the front ring or at the back of the neck.  I have added in another fixing ring at the back of the neck area, to give the added advantage of being able to wear/fasten the necklace at either 18 inches or 16 inches.  Nice one!

The whole ensamble is captivating - a classic updated forever heirloom jewellery piece - wear smugly!

Approximate Measurements:

Length of neck chain section:  18 inches (excluding central drop) can also be worn at 16 inches.
Drop: 6.5cm

Swallow: 2.9cm (w) x 2cm (d) (excluding bale ring)

NB: I am wearing the necklace on the 'shorter' length option in the photo gallery.

This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
