This beautiful unique antique and vintage 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using a fusion of antique and vintage silver chains. There is a pretty silver collar chain with Forget-Me-Not flower and ball detail, together with a section of chubby heavy link antique Albert watch chain (every link is hallmarked for silver). Also incorporated in the 'drops' and to the back of the neck area are sections of vintage silver 'anchor' chain, which ties in nicely with the design.
This necklace has a romantic nautical theme going on, perhaps a lover or loved one off to sea/going overseas or on their travels, with the forget-me-not detailed chain only intensifying the spirit of the piece, along with the romance of the Victorian silver and paste swallow, which always symbolises that the person would 'return' to their loved one again.
The stunning charm cluster drops consist of an antique silver and twinkly paste set swallow (formally a brooch!). Together with an interesting and intricate silver woven effect ball with rose gold studding detail (a curio salvaged from an antique Albertina watch chain)and the grand finale being a large silver anchor charm with lovely rope detailing. The necklace fastens centrally to the front by means of an Albert swivel fastener.
The fusion I have put together of all the different, yet complimenting elements to form this forever heirloom jewellery piece results in a stunning and unusual visual feast with delighting impact!
