This beautiful antique 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using a stunning Victorian swallow piece (formerly a brooch), crafted in 14K gold and beautifully set with pearls, The bird carries a 'sprig' topped with a sparking diamond (aproximately 0.25 carat ) in its beak and has a cabochon ruby eye.

I have coupled this beautiful swallow piece with fancy 'paperclip' link antique double Albert watch chain.  The chain is 9ct gold with a gentle rosey hue and is in lovely condition for its age.

From the centre ring is the original chain drop with T bar.  The T bar would have originally been inserted into the buttonhole of a gentleman's waistcoat.  All in keeping with the integrity of the watch chain, but with this exquisite swallow piece elevating its status to delight.

The necklace has the original 2 Albert swivel fasteners.  One fastening centrally to the front and the other I have moved to the rear of the neck position.  The necklace has the advantage of being able to be worn at several different lengths, as the long links lend themselves to being fastened to along the chain length (at the rear).

Swallows were a favourite of the Victorians/Edwardians given as a love token to a sweetheart to signify returning to them.

A classically cool forever heirloom piece. Love love love it forever!!

Approximate Measurements:
Neck Section: 18inches max.  Can also be fastened at various shorter options.
Chain Drop Section: 4cm
Swallow: 3.8cm (beak to longest tail feather tip) (wing to wing tip):
T Bar Width: 3.6cm

Overall length of necklace when worn: 20.5 inches
This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
