'This lil Piggy'

This silver 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using a fusion of different antique and vintage chains; including fancy antique locket chain and Victorian Albertina watch chain.  The Albertina section being of a pretty 'double strand' design anchored by silver bead finials.  The section of locket chain has the most intricate and interest links to it with engraved detailed rounds, separated by pretty openwork hinged links. Lastly, there is a section of vintage silver chain to the back of the neck area, which has a simple 'trace' link. This balances out the designs very nicely.

Coupled to these collectable and pretty and unusual antique silver chain drop from which is suspended a beautiifully etched and engraved orb/ball curio, of the Victorian era, affording a delicious patina.  This would have originally been a charm keepsake decorating a pocket watch chain.

Close coupled to the centre ring is a rather handsome large vintage silver pig charm.  The charm is chunky, solid and of a good size, with great detail to it.  The eyes of the piggy are deep set with red ruby/garnet or possibly paste stones.  There is a 'score' mark across the pigs back (see zoom facility), which does not affect the charm in any way and only adds to its character, in my opinion.

The necklace fastens centrally to the front by way of an Albert swivel fastener.

This is a super unique conversational necklace and forever heirloom piece to enjoy.
