This stunning 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using antique and vintage jewellery elements. I have used a fusion of 2 different link antique 9ct gold locket chains. One being a particularly pretty interlocking ring link (in my mind I imagined it to be the honeycomb of the bee), together with a lovely smooth and yummy patina double llink belcher type Victorian locket chain. Both being a wonderful gentle aged gold.
The necklace fastens centrally to the front by way of an Albert swivel fastener. From the central ring hangs a chain drop with T bar finial. Together with the 'trophy piece' bee-ing a jaw droppingly gorgeous vintage 18ct gold Bee (formerly a brooch), set with 7 diamonds on the thorax and 2 ruby eyes. The bee is stamped '750' for 18ct gold and is solid and weighty.
An eclectic collectors item (such pieces are becoming more and more difficult to source). Absolutely stunning when worn. Is sure to be a much admired, conversational and envied piece.
Overall Length when worn including Drop: 21 inches
Neck Chain Length: 17.5 inches
T Bar Chain Drop: 2 inches
Bee: 3cm x 2.4cm
This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
