This bold and beautiful antique/vintage butterfly piece (previously a brooch), is generously set with an array of colours in the form of diamonds, sapphires, rubies and an emerald.  The butterfly comprises 9ct gold and silver.  With old pieces the precious stones were generally set in silver to reflect the light around the stones.  The silver would be layered on top of the gold back.

I have set the stage for her on a backdrop of a antique 9ct guard chain with a desirable gentle rose gold patina that only very old gold affords.

Keeping this precious butterfly company is a chain drop; from which is suspended an antique T bar finial, grounding the whole scenario perfectly.

Of course no guard chain would really be complete without a T bar and Albert swivel fastener.  Which this design is graced with.  The necklace fastens centrally to the front by way of an Albert swivel fastener.

An eclectic collectors item (such pieces are becoming more and more difficult to source). Each lovely antique element contributes towards creating an attractive, rare and desirable piece of jewellery.

A beautiful and rather special forever heirloom jewellery piece to cherish,
