This stunning, collectible antique jewellery piece has been created using a bold and beautifully crafted Victorian black onyx and 18ct rose gold mourning locket. The locket is set with seed pearls crafted in a floral 'Lily of the Valley' design, which are set within rose gold leaves and sprigs.
 
To the reverse side of the locket there is an 18ct rose gold framed and hinged photo window, where one can insert a special photo, lock of hair or other keepsake. The locket is in wonderful condition for its age and has a smooth glossy finish.
 
I have coupled the locket with a fusion of interesting antique chains. One being a 9ct gold antique gradulated curb link watch chain (each link being hallmarked), blending into an Antique French Neillo* chain, with silver with enamelling detail, rose gold and intricate wirework detail, which makes for a truly unique and interesting combination. I chose the Niello chain as I liked the black hue/patina of the enamelling which nicely brings together the black gloss colour palette of the onyx locket.
 
A delicate Victorian rose gold fancy chain drops down from the centre ring from where suspends a fancy 9ct gold Albertina T bar, the T bar has barley twist and ball end detail and some either dark patina or enamelling to the barley twists, which again stays within the dark hue colour pallete of the locket. The chain fastens to the back of the neck by way of a Niello Albert swivel fastener.
 
The necklace has the added advantage of being able to be worn at 2 different lengths, as I have inserted 2 jump rings along the length of the chain, to fasten to suit your neckline or mood. See measurements below:
