This bold and beautiful antique 9ct gold dragonfly piece (previously a brooch), is skillfully detailed and set with a pretty opal cabochon stone to the centre.
The dragonfly has been crafted in 9ct gold and has wonderful veining detail to the wings. The body of the insect is set with a pretty opal cabochon shaped stone. A truly rare and beautiful piece.
I have set the stage for her on a backdrop of an antique 9ct gold guard chain with a desirable gentle rose gold patina that only very old gold affords.
Keeping this precious dragonfly company is a chain drop (again, a section of guard chain with pretty faceted links that catch the light); from which is suspended the most beautiful antique Victorian tassel with exquisite detailing (the tassel would have originally have been hanging from an ornate Albertina watch chain). This gorgeous finial, flutters beneath the dragonfly, thus grounding the whole scenario perfectly.
Of course no guard chain would really be complete without a Albert swivel fastener; which this design is graced with. The necklace fastens centrally to the front by way of the Albert swivel fastener.
An eclectic collectors item (such pieces are becoming more and more difficult to source). Each lovely antique element contributes towards creating an attractive, rare and desirable piece of jewellery.
