This quirky pretty link 9ct gentle rose gold Antique Albert watch chain 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using an antique, 9ct gold Albert watch chain with pretty long links interconnected with feta knot links.
Highly sought after, collectable and value appreciating. The integrity of the Albert watch chain remains with the T bar (which would have gone through the buttonhole of a gentlemans waistcoat), Albert Fob (usually a memento keepsake/medal) and the Albert swivel fasteners. This is a particularly large, intricately detailed and fine gold fob, with engraving to the front and back. To the front there is a shield shape which has the beautifully engraved initials intertwined 'AW'. To the reverse side is the inscription, telling the story to whom the medal was awarded and why, Dated 1909 (see close up photo in gallery). Every piece has a story and this story we now know :) The fob is as intended with its original chain. (I have not added the fob to this chain myself).
The 'double Albert' watch chain has both of its original Albert swivel fasteners and I have spun one around so that the necklace can be fastened centrally to the front ring or at the back of the neck. These wonderful fasteners also add character and interest to the necklace. I have also provided the added advantage of being able to wear the necklace at 2 different lengths as there are 2 round rings at the back to choose where to fasten (see measurements below).
In the gallery photos above there are photos of me wearing the necklace on both the longer and shorter length options. Also with the white or the black side of the watch key stones to the front.
Additionally, I have 'pimped up' the watch chain with an antique gold/gold cased (the inside of the key barrel would be metal). The watch key would have been used to wind up the pocket watch which would have been attached to the chain. Watch keys are also very collectable and sought after. The key is double sided with one side set with a creamy opal coloured stone, probably 'Agate' and the other with black onyx. The key swivels around on a screw fixing which attaches to the bale.
Also amongst this charm and curios cluster, is a fine T bar (again original to the chain), which hangs midway on short length of gold chain. Finally such a wonderfully eclectic necklace would not be without a vintage charm. I have selected the perfect one by way of this very cute and unusual (I have never come across one the same as this before), alarm clock with bell on top c1950s. The clock is rose gold and the face of the clock appears to be paper. This miniature wonderfully detailed 9ct gold charm sets the scene and sits with its counterparts perfecto!
