This strikingly beautiful, bold and unique necklace; was created using a fusion of eclectic antique victorian and vintage silver elements. 
 
Setting the stage for this incredible example of Victorian craftsmanship in the shape of a flying, insect, bug is a fusion of two different link chains.  One being a pretty and intricately crafted silver antique fancy link watch chain, to which I have blended in for length, at the back, a section of vintage double curb link chain, furthermore making it possible to adjust the length of the necklace at two different length options (see measurements below). 
 
The substantial and beautiful chains both have a gorgeous patina to them, which only age can give and I have lightly polished the assentuate the high detail.
 
These chains off-set the highly detailed and beautiful Victorian flying insect piece (previously a brooch), the insect is set with seed pearls to its wings and a little pop pearl to its bottom with tiny garnet eyes.  The thorax and abdomen of the bug being set with two cabochon tigers eye stones; rich and lustrous in colour.  All in all a breathtaking combination in a moody colour palette.
 
Keeping the 'bug' company on the  centre ring is a chain drop of vintage open link rope chain to which I have added a wonderfully grounding finial in the form of an ball/orb, sourced from an antique Albertina watch chain.  The ball has lovely engraved scroll work to its surface and is the perfect finish to this special design. 
 
The necklace fastens centrally to the front by way of an Albert swivel fastener.
 
Pieces such as these are getter harder and harder to source and this truly is an exceptional example.
