This is a ravishingly desirable and sensual piece of antique Victorian 'fine' jewellery.  Crafted in 18ct gold, diamonds and cabochon garnets; depicting a coiled snake, choker locket necklace.
 
This beautiful collectable piece has been expertly crafted in 18ct gold (tested not marked).  The snake is nothing short of a work of art with the head of the snake and heart having intricate pattern detail and adorned with cabochon garnet stones.  The garnet stone on the snake's head being embellished with diamonds. 
 
The head of the snake is set with the largest garnet cabochon.  This garnet has been embellished with a tiny setting in the shape of a flame, the centre of which is set with two twinkling old cut diamonds.  Additionally, there are diamonds set either side  of the head to form the eyes of the snake.  
 
The mouth of the snake (see the tiny teeth), is open and holding ring, from which is suspended a beautiful heart shaped locket. The heart is also set with a beautiful cabochon garnet.  To the back of the locket is glass porthole window where once there would have been inserted a loved ones photo or lock of hair behind the glass (This type of locket was very popular in Victorian times).
 
The stage for this stunning piece has been set upon a marvellous, rich and fluid articulated snakey style link chain (yes it really does look like the scales of a snake!).  The clasp cleverly and discreetly slides with a nice snap into a chamber at the side of the snakes head, thus leaving the body of the chain uninterrupted.
