Skulls & Roses 
 
This rare, collectible and unique piece of jewellery is made up of a fusion of both antique and vintage silver elements.
 
The necklace fastens centrally to the front by way of an Albert swivel fastener.  From the centre ring is a short drop of chain (sourced from a Victorian locket collar chain).  It has pretty ball and pierced star details, loved by the Victorians.  
 
At the bottom of this chain drop hangs a gorgeous silver vintage locket with central detailed raised single rose with pretty leaf engraving surrounding rose and scalloped edging - just lovely!   The back of the locket is stamped 'Silver Stylic' possibly to indicate the maker 'Smith, Ewen & Stylic Ltd' of Birmingham, which operated from 1946 to 1971.
 
Keeping the locket company and adding a bit of 'edge' to the mix is a fantastic antique silver skull charm with garnet eyes.   The skull charm was one of four sourced from a Victorian watch chain. 
 
To the collarbone area on the chain I have added a further link from which there is a pretty vintage silver heart charm with lovely floral engraving detail. 
 
All in all an intoxicating and unique mix of romance and edge, light and shade.
