This stunning 'fine' jewellery piece has been created using antique Victorian 9ct gold and silver jewellery elements.
I have used lengths of antique 9ct gold 'guard' chain as the backdrop and to set the stage for this spectacularly beautiful and bold Victorian bug/bee/insect piece (previously a brooch).
The necklace fastens centrally to the front, by way of an Albert swivel fastener. The chain being tantalisingly fluid to the touch with a wonderful gentle rosy 9ct gold patina; that only antique gold affords.
Together with the 'trophy piece' bee-ing a jaw droppingly gorgeous antique Victorian bee, moth, flyingbug/insect piece, (formerly a brooch). The bee is crafted in silver, which has been set with sparkling paste stones and a large cabochon Moonstone. A particularly pristine example.
Keeping the bug piece company on the centre ring hangs a chain drop with chunky antique T bar, having several lovely hallmarks and makers marks for 9ct gold. This T bar drop acts as the perfect finial; grounding the design perfectly.
An eclectic collectors item (such pieces are becoming more and more difficult to source).
Absolutely stunning when worn. Is sure to be a much admired, conversational and envied piece. Wear smugly!
Approximate Measurements:
Neck Section Chain Length: 17.5 inches
Drop: 2 inches/ 5.3cm
Overall Length when worn: 22 inches
Bee: 5cm x 2.5cm
T Bar: 3.6cm
This is a quirky one-of-a-kind heirloom piece, bringing the wearer an item of jewellery as exclusive and individual as them. The perfect keepsake or gift to celebrate life's milestone occasions or just life!
