This rare, collectible and unique vintage jewellery piece has been created using a fusion of different link pretty link antique and vintage silver chains.

The trophy piece being this stunning pietra dura* piece.  The intricate mosaic of a most beautiful delicate rose flower with a tiny other floral sprigs surrounding the crest of the rose.  Carefully and skilfully set upon a backdrop of black for a delicate, yet dramatic statement.  The mosaic is set within and framed with a simple, yet intricate side profile silver frame with a gorgeous openwork craftsmanship detail to the depth of the setting.

Also from the centre ring hangs a length of simple belcher link chain (new); leading nicely down to the a substantial chunky silver Victorian T bar (sourced from an antique watch chain).

The neckace is fastened centrally to the front by way of an  Albert swivel fastener.

* Pietra Dura

Pietra dura (translation hardstone) refers to a Florentine mosaic technique that is descendant from the Roman opus sectile mosaic style.

Pietra dura is a term for using cut and fitted, highly polished coloured stones to create images. The stonework is glued stone-by-stone to a base after being "sliced and cut in different shape sections; and then assembled together so precisely that the contact between each section was practically invisible.
